HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 2007--ADTRAN, Inc., (NASDAQ: ADTN) a leading supplier of network equipment, today announced that it has been named as the Company of the Year in the Network Infrastructure category in the Annual Report Card (ARC) from CMP Channel's VARBusiness. Now in its 22nd year, the VARBusiness ARC Awards recognize outstanding partner programs and superb vendor service in 15 product and service categories including network infrastructure, mobile computers, mainstream business servers, voice networking hardware, data and information management software, and security appliances. The ARC awards were held at an awards ceremony August 21, at the CMP Channel's XChange '07 Conference in Orlando, Florida.
ADTRAN excelled beyond several industry-leading vendors to be named as Company of the Year for Network infrastructure. The company received the highest marks of any participant in two of the three subcategories in which it participated. Winners were selected by VARBusiness editorial staff based on the survey results of more than 5,000 systems integrators, IT consulting organizations, value-added resellers (VARs), solution providers and software developers.
"We are pleased to be recognized by our partners as a preferred choice for their business," said Ted Cole, vice president of channel sales, ADTRAN Enterprise Networks Division. "The ADTRAN ADvantage Partner Program continues to gain recognition for excellence and this award further validates our position as one of the leading channel programs in the networking industry."
"Because vendors taking part in the VARBusiness Annual Report Card are selected by their own Solution Provider partners, the Annual Report Card, over the last 22 years has become the defining research on vendor/partner relationships," said Robert C. Demarzo, vice president and editorial director, CMP Channel. "We salute each of the vendors named on this year's ARC."
The ADTRAN ADvantage Partner Program is designed to assist partners in achieving their goals, while remaining flexible enough to match each partner's individual business model and objectives. This program recognizes three tiers of participation: ADvantage Plus, ADvantage, and Registered. Each tier provides a level of support and reward that scales to the level of commitment the partner chooses. The foundation of the program is ADTRAN's portfolio of innovative, reliable alternative networking solutions designed especially for Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) at price points appropriate for the market. Top priorities for the partner program include training, certifications and product/technology specializations (Internetworking, IP Telephony); ease of doing business; best-in-class pre- and post-sales technical support; clear points of contact; demo programs; opportunity registration and lead generation.
In addition to this award, the ADTRAN ADvantage Partner Program has been recognized as a five-star partner program by VARBusiness. ADTRAN Vice President of Channel Sales, Ted Cole, was also named a Channel Chief by CRN, and ADTRAN Vice President of Marketing, Leslie Conway, was recently named as one of the 50 most powerful women in the channel by VARBusiness.
